The Guelph Police Service is looking for tips as part of an investigation into a potential renovation fraud.

A caller reached out to police after they hired a Woodstock-based construction company to do some work at a business space in Guelph. The caller said the received a quote from the construction company who said they could begin work quickly. The caller sent along payment.
After several months of back and forth, with no work done, the caller said they found out the company had dissolved. When they tried to contact the company again to find out what was going on, they learned they’d been blocked.

Police are asking anyone with information about the case to contact Constable John Schleen at 519-824-1212, ext. 7570 or email jschleen@guelphpolice.ca.
