This dining room update happened in Madison, Wisconsin. There was no big renovation plan just a tight budget and a room that felt boring.

Instead of replacing furniture, we focused on small changes. The walls were repainted using leftover paint from another job. The table stayed the same, even though it had a few scratches.
Mid-process – painting and cleanup.
The biggest improvement came from changing the light fixture and adding a simple rug. It’s not perfect, and the chairs still don’t fully match, but the space feels more inviting now.

Takeaway
You don’t always need new furniture. Sometimes rearranging and repainting is enough to change how a room feels.
