Oh, Canada! The land of maple syrup, hockey, and apparently, postal strikes. Workers at Canada Post are putting the ‘eh’ in ‘strike’ as negotiations hit a standstill. Charities and not-for-profits are shaking in their boots, worried about their year-end fundraising efforts going up in smoke faster than you can say “Tim Hortons double-double.”
Approximately 55,000 workers are waving their union flags high and claiming that progress in bargaining is harder to find than a polar bear in downtown Toronto. Meanwhile, Canada Post is feeling a little miffed, stating that the strike will have a more significant impact than a moose in rush hour.
Let’s hope that Canada Post and the union can get their act together faster than you can say “sorry” and come to an agreement. The government is apparently playing peacekeeper, ensuring these two parties have all they need to end this letter-writing saga.
