The Problem
The bathroom in a small apartment in Chicago, Illinois had a few loose tiles near the shower. They didn’t look dangerous at first, but water was seeping under them, and it could cause bigger problems later.
Loose tiles before.
What We Did
We removed the loose tiles carefully, cleaned out the old adhesive, and reset them with fresh thin-set mortar. Some tiles were slightly chipped, but I tried to fit them in as best as possible. It wasn’t perfect, but it stopped the water from getting underneath.
Mid-fix / applying mortar.
The Result
The tiles are stable now and the area is safe to use. If you look closely, you’ll notice a couple of small gaps, but for a DIY fix, it works well. The bathroom feels cleaner and more secure now.
Finished tiles.
