Small bathrooms can feel cramped and outdated, but with a few smart changes, they can become one of the most inviting spaces in the house. Recently, I took on the challenge of renovating a small guest bathroom with a very limited budget.
Before: The space had yellowed tiles, a bulky vanity that took up too much room, and poor lighting that made the bathroom look even smaller. Storage was almost nonexistent, which made the area feel cluttered.
After: With just a few updates, the room was completely transformed. The old vanity was replaced with a floating sink to open up floor space. White subway tiles were installed on one wall to add brightness without overwhelming the budget. A large round mirror replaced the outdated square one, making the room appear bigger. For storage, open wooden shelves were added above the toilet for towels and essentials.
The total cost of the renovation stayed under $700, but the change was dramatic. The bathroom now feels modern, fresh, and much larger than before.
Final thoughts: Even small bathrooms can shine with the right updates. Focusing on lighting, storage, and color can turn a dull space into a room that feels brand new without overspending.
