One of the most important things to look at before renovating a bathroom is the age of the plumbing pipes. Many people change tiles and fittings but leave very old pipes inside the walls. After a year or two, those pipes start leaking, and you have to break the new tiles again. That’s double expense and double stress.
When renovating, ask the plumber to inspect the main water lines and drainage pipes. If they are rusty, weak, or too small, replace them while the walls are already open. It is cheaper to fix everything at once than to renovate twice. Renovation is not just making the bathroom beautiful — it is your chance to solve hidden problems you normally cannot see.
