Well, well, well, looks like Canada had a pretty decent day at the speedskating championships over in Hachinohe, Japan. Ivanie Blondin must have had her skating boots on the right feet because she snagged herself a gold medal in the women’s mass start event. Time of nine minutes and some change, talk about speed on ice! And let’s not forget about David La Rue and Hayden Mayeur flexing with silver and bronze in the men’s mass start. Way to represent, guys!
But wait, there’s more! Mayeur didn’t stop there, no sir. He also grabbed another bronze in the men’s team pursuit with Connor Howe and Ted-Jan Bloemen. Teamwork makes the dream work, right?
So, if you’re a speedskating aficionado or just enjoy watching people zoom around icy ovals, be sure to catch the action from Hachinohe. Four Continents Championships, day three, Japan - sounds like a good time on the ice!
