Creating a Home Office in a Spare Room
Like many people, I found myself working from home more often. At first, I set up my laptop at the dining table, but it quickly became clear that I needed a dedicated office. The spare room, filled with old furniture and boxes, became my project.
After decluttering, I painted the walls a calming shade of light blue and installed floating shelves for books and supplies. A sturdy desk and ergonomic chair formed the foundation of the office. To make the room brighter, I positioned the desk near a window for natural light.
I added small touches that made the space feel personal: a corkboard for ideas, framed art for inspiration, and a cozy rug underfoot. Good lighting was essential, so I installed a desk lamp with adjustable settings.
Within weeks, the spare room was unrecognizable. It became a space where I could focus without distractions. The separation from the rest of the house improved both my productivity and my peace of mind.
Conclusion:
Renovating my spare room into a home office reminded me that environment shapes mindset. With intentional design, I created a workspace that supports focus, creativity, and balance.
