This project was done in a small bedroom in New Orleans, Louisiana. The room felt flat and boring, even though everything was technically fine. Instead of renovating, I decided to experiment with color.
Before photo – plain walls and empty bedroom.
I chose a two-tone wall design with a darker shade on the lower half. Cutting the paint line evenly was harder than expected. The tape bled in one section, and I had to touch it up by hand.
During renovation – painting and taping wall design.
Once the paint dried, the room felt more intentional and less boxy. One corner still isn’t perfectly clean if you look closely, but most people never notice it.
After photo – finished two-tone bedroom wall.
This wasn’t a big renovation, but it completely changed how the room feels. For a New Orleans home, using color creatively was an easy way to add character without major work.
Honest Thought
Bold ideas are scary at first, but they usually pay off.
