When we renovated, our goal wasn’t a showroom kitchen it was a family kitchen. Sticky fingers, school lunches, rushed breakfasts… all of it needed to work.
We chose wipeable finishes, deeper sinks to hide dishes, and a pantry cabinet with labeled pull-out bins. The kids now make snacks without turning the place upside-down.
We also added a small “drop zone” for keys, mail, and backpacks. Before, all of that ended up on the counter. Now it has its own corner.
Conclusion: A family kitchen isn’t about perfection. It’s about durability, organization, and creating a space where real life actually fits.
