Designing With a Budget in Mind

I used to pick inspiration photos first, then try to match them. That approach was beautiful and expensive. Now, I start with the budget and design around what’s realistic.

For example, I loved the look of full built-ins around the TV. Custom carpentry was out of reach, so I used two second-hand bookcases and painted them the same color as the wall. Add trim and they suddenly looked tailored.

The bathroom followed the same logic. Instead of stone tile everywhere, I used statement tile in one small section and affordable ceramic everywhere else. The room still feels stylish but stayed within budget.

Designing within limits doesn’t restrict creativity it actually sparks it.

Conclusion: Inspiration is helpful, but your budget is the real blueprint. When you design around what you can comfortably spend, you end up with a home you love and can afford.
