No matter how often we cleaned and painted, our house felt a touch drab for years. Even though the walls were recently painted and the furniture was lovely, the room nevertheless felt uninviting and flat. Eventually, we identified the illumination as the problem rather than the design. The light in certain rooms felt harsh rather than warm, and our bulbs were too dim. At that point, we made the decision to experiment and see if improved lighting would help.
We began with replacing outdated light bulbs with LED lights that use less energy and provide a warmer, softer glow. The living area instantly became cozier and more comfortable as a result of this. We installed under-cabinet lighting in the kitchen, which not only gave the space a contemporary appearance but also made cooking easier because we could see everything well.
We swapped out the one overhead light in the bedrooms with wall sconces and smaller lamps. This allowed us greater control over the brightness and produced a peaceful, relaxing ambiance at night. Little details like placing a chic floor light in a corner gave the room a feeling of well-thought-out design.
One of the easiest and most successful improvements we’ve ever made was updating the lighting. In addition to us, relatives and friends who come to visit now find our house to be much cozier, lighter, and friendlier. It is evidence that sometimes, without requiring significant remodeling, the proper lighting may totally change the atmosphere of a house.
