During remote work I realized I needed more space. My garage was barely used so I decided to turn it into an office.
The first step was insulation and drywall to make it livable. I added vinyl plank flooring because it is easy to clean. For lighting I installed recessed LEDs and a big window for natural light.
To save money I built my own desk using wood and metal legs. Shelving units gave me storage for books and supplies. Finally I painted the walls white to keep the room bright.
The result was a functional office that feels separate from the rest of the house. It cost far less than building an addition.
Final thought: With some planning any unused space can become valuable. Have you ever thought of converting your garage?
