How To Fix A Cracked Wall

Have you ever gotten stuck or confused about how to fix a cracked wall at home ? No worries, I understand how Cracked Walls are usually a sting in the flesh; it keeps us on our feet wondering what could have caused such.

Sometimes, it’s due to poor quality building materials like a bad cement mix or a low quality brick. Other times, it’s due to natural tear or worn out of the building foundation as building materials tend to age. It’s also as a result of too much exposure to water which could cause moisture damage to the walls hence, giving it a crack.

I’ve got several tools you could use to fix a cracked wall in case you experience one;

1. Hammer & Chisel: These are two essential tools you could use to open the damaged part of a cracked wall before filling the necessary mix like cements and other buildings materials.

2. Putty Knife / Scraper: these tools are used for application and smoothing the filler or plaster of your mix to ensure a flawless texture surface of your cracked wall.

3. Wire Brush: helps you to clean the dusty area of the cracked walls and also get rid of tiny particles from the cracked wall.

4. Sandpaper / Sanding Block: are necessary tools for ensuring that the wall looks better after fixing. It helps in smoothing the surface after repair making it look like your wall never cracked.

5. Paintbrush / Roller: are very important because you will need to give walls that aesthetic it needs after it get fixed. So, using a paintbrush makes your wall look colourful and beautiful.

6. Bucket & Sponge: after fixing, it’s so vital that you clean where you had worked. So, a sponge could be used to clean your environment and get rid of dirts making your room feel lively again.

These are some steps/suggestions you can apply or use for fixing your cracked walls and also ensuring that, no spots are found that your walls had previously cracked before.
