Is the learning curve of DIY worth the effort for larger projects?
For small projects, DIY learning pays off fast, paint, shelves, minor repairs save money and boost confidence. For larger projects (plumbing, electrical, structural), the learning curve is steep. Mistakes can cost more to fix than hiring a pro from the start, and some jobs need permits or licensed trades anyway.
So DIY is worth it if you enjoy the process and have time to practice. If the goal is speed, safety, and guaranteed results, bigger jobs are usually better left to pros.
