This kitchen update was done in a Brooklyn, New York apartment. The kitchen was small and functional, but daily cooking felt cramped and inefficient. A full renovation wasn’t realistic, so I focused on a few practical improvements.
Before photo – small cluttered kitchen.
The first change was reorganizing the cabinets and adding pull-out organizers. Installing them wasn’t as smooth as I expected because one cabinet opening wasn’t perfectly square. I had to trim the organizer slightly to make it fit.
During renovation – cabinet organizer installation.
I also replaced the faucet with a pull-down model. One connection leaked slightly at first, which was nerve-racking, but tightening it and reapplying tape fixed the problem.
After photo – cleaner, more functional kitchen.
The kitchen still looks small, but it works much better now. For a Brooklyn apartment, improving functionality mattered more than changing the layout.
Real Thought
Small kitchens don’t forgive mistakes, but small upgrades add up fast.
