Our yard used to be the space we hurried past. Patchy grass. Faded chairs. No personality.
We didn’t do a major renovation. Instead, we added string lights, fresh mulch, two simple planters, and a small fire pit area made with pavers. Suddenly evenings migrated outside. Neighbors stopped by. We talked more, scrolled less.
It wasn’t perfect but it felt lived-in and cared for.
Conclusion: You don’t need a professional landscape plan to create a place you actually want to spend time in.
