When I decided to redo my bathroom, I thought I had it all figured out. I had a Pinterest board, a budget in mind, and a contractor lined up. Turns out, I was in for a reality check.
The first mistake? I didn’t plan carefully. I chose tiles and fixtures without seeing how they worked together in the space. Once installed, some combinations looked off, and I had to replace a few pieces adding unexpected costs.
I also underestimated the timeline. What I thought would take two weeks stretched into a month, leaving me frustrated and living around the chaos. And, worst of all, I learned that hiring the wrong contractor can make even small projects stressful.
By the end, the bathroom looked great cleaner, brighter, and more functional but the process taught me a lot: plan thoroughly, budget realistically, and don’t rush the little decisions.
