One Small Painting Mistake That Showed Up Later

This was a small repainting job in a Boise, Idaho home. It seemed simple at first fresh paint, same color, quick update.

Before photo – wall with old paint.

The mistake happened early. I didn’t clean the wall properly before painting. It looked fine while wet, so I moved on.

During painting – mid-process photo.

A few days later, certain spots started to look uneven when sunlight hit the wall. Not peeling, just slightly blotchy. I had to lightly sand and touch up those areas.

After photo – final painted wall.

It’s fixed now, but it added extra work that could’ve been avoided. Even small prep steps matter, especially with paint.

Cleaning and prep take longer than painting, but skipping them costs more time later.
