Renovating your home? Now’s a great time to go green Ontario’s refreshed Home Renovation Savings Program delivers generous rebates on energy-efficient upgrades, helping you save money while boosting comfort and sustainability.

What’s New (as of 2025)

Launched in January, the revamped program streamlines energy-saving home improvements with a one-window approach delivered jointly by Save on Energy (IESO) and Enbridge Gas It accommodates homeowners using electricity, natural gas, oil, propane, or wood for heating

Rebate Highlights

Homeowners can choose between two pathways bundled upgrades after an energy assessment or single upgrades to access significant rebates:
• Bundle + Save:
• Home energy assessment: $600 back
• Insulation: up to $7,700 (or up to ~$8,900 for some homes)
• Windows & doors: $100 per rough opening
• Air sealing: up to $250
• Heat pump water heaters: $500
• Single Upgrades (no assessment needed):
• Cold climate air-source heat pumps: up to $7,500
• Ground-source heat pumps: up to $12,000
• Smart thermostats: $75
• Solar panels & battery storage: up to $10,000

Eligible homeowners can receive up to $10,000 in total rebates, depending on their home’s heating type and combination of upgrades

Why It Matters
• Energy & Cost Savings: Upgrades like heat pumps and insulation significantly reduce utility bills.
• Boosts Home Comfort: Improved insulation and efficient systems make your home more comfortable year-round.
• Environmentally Responsible: With incentives to install solar panels, heat pumps, and smart thermostats, it’s easier to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
• Resale Value: Energy-efficient features are increasingly sought after by modern homebuyers.

How to Get Started
1. Visit the official Home Renovation Savings Program site via Save on Energy or Enbridge Gas.
2. Decide if you want to begin with a home energy assessment (for bundle savings) or go straight for single upgrades.
3. Hire qualified contractors and complete upgrades. Some measures may require pre- and post-energy assessments.
4. Submit your rebate application with supporting documentation to claim your funds.

The Home Renovation Savings Program offers big rebates up to $10,000 for energy-efficient upgrades like heat pumps, insulation, solar systems, and more. It’s a smart way to modernize your home affordably, boost comfort, and lower energy costs all while contributing to a greener Ontario.
