Organisation And Storage Ideas For A Clutter-Free Bathroom

I’ve recently given my bathroom a storage and organisation overhaul, so I thought I would share decluttering home hacks that I followed to give me a clean, categorised and tranquil bathroom space that is stress-free and serene!

Using wicker baskets to accommodate towel storage

Storing towels was a big problem in my bathroom. With clean towels bursting out of the storage cupboards and bathroom cabinets, they took up valuable space that could be used to house other items.

Decorative wicker or seagrass baskets are a good way to store towels and keep them compartmentalised and organised. You don’t need to invest in a freestanding unit when you can place an aesthetically pleasing basket in an unused corner on the floor and fill it with bath towels. If you’d prefer to keep your clean towels dust and splash-free, look to baskets that come with a lid.

I also invested in smaller wicker baskets where I could roll up hand towels and make them into a decorative display, rather than have them piled up on top of each other in the corner of my bathroom storage unit

Stores like Homesense and Dunelm are amazing for wicker storage

Buy clear storage pieces to keep everyday items tidy

I often had plastic bags of cotton pads and pots of cotton buds just standing out in my bathroom, making it look unloved and untidy. However, as I used these items multiple times a day, I found it impossible to remember to put them back in the cupboards. To solve this issue, I invested in small acrylic organisers which stylishly accommodated these items on display.

Used small furniture pieces to free up surface spaces and add character

My sink was always full of items all around the edges: toothbrushes, tubes of toothpaste, soaps and face washes cluttered this area, so I added a small wooden stool that slotted in under the sink (taking up little space) to accommodate these everyday bathroom necessities
