Insist on:
proper wall scraping and priming
moisture treatment where necessary
agreed number of coats
paint kept sealed and mixed properly
Ask to see the paint tins before mixing. It sounds small, but it stops substitution. Walls are the biggest surface in your home — cheap paint punishes you daily.
