Simple Wall Repairs That Made My Living Room Look New in Houston

This small improvement project was done in a living room in Houston, Texas. The room itself was fine, but the walls had dents, nail holes, and small cracks that made everything look unfinished.

I thought patching the walls would be quick, but it wasn’t as smooth as I expected. One patch dried unevenly, and I didn’t notice until I started sanding. I had to reapply compound and wait another day for it to dry properly.

During renovation – wall patching and sanding.

After sanding and repainting, the room instantly looked cleaner. I did miss a small crack near the corner at first, which only became obvious once the light hit it in the evening.

The walls aren’t flawless if you look very closely, but the difference is noticeable. For a Houston home, fixing small wall issues before repainting is an easy way to make a room feel refreshed.

Wall prep takes longer than painting, but it matters more.
