So, here’s the deal: Tesla hasn’t given the thumbs-up to any skylight brands or flashing kits for their Solar Roof. Putting in a skylight can be a bit of a puzzle. Some folks have seen leaks where the skylight and solar tiles meet up, and it can happen even a few years down the road. Usually, it’s because the pieces weren’t made to fit together perfectly.
Now, if you get a leak, Tesla might not pay for it under their warranty since they didn’t install the skylight themselves. You’d probably have to get the skylight company or the installer to fix it. Skylights can work with the Solar Roof, but you’ll want a super skilled installer, and keep in mind that Tesla probably won’t take responsibility if something goes wrong.
