The Problem
I was helping a friend fix a tiny corner in their kitchen in Atlanta, Georgia that always felt awkward. The old countertop had scratches and the backsplash tiles were yellowed. Nothing major, just annoying.

What We Did
We didn’t have much budget, so I suggested swapping out a few tiles we could get on sale and putting a peel-and-stick backsplash over the scratched area. It wasn’t perfectly lined up—the corners don’t meet perfectly—but it looks way better than before.
The countertop stayed the same because we couldn’t afford a full replacement, but we cleaned it really well and added a few small decorations to make it pop.

The Result
Honestly, it feels more like a space you want to cook in now. If you look too closely, you’ll notice a few imperfections, but for a low-budget fix, it worked really well.
