During renovation, you will often hear, “Leave it like that, we will manage it.” A slightly slanted switch, a small tile chip, a tiny leak, a door that rubs slightly — everyone is in a hurry to finish, and you are tempted to accept it.
Don’t. Small defects never stay small.
A tiny leak becomes a stained wall. A slightly slanted tile becomes an eyesore every single day. A misaligned door damages its frame over time. Each “let’s manage it” today becomes repair work tomorrow.
Create a snag list of every imperfection you notice and insist politely that they be fixed before final payment. Good contractors respect clients who know what they want; only careless ones get angry when you demand proper finishing.
You’re not being difficult — you’re protecting your investment.
