Las Vegas is buzzing with transformation, as major resorts, historic casinos, and city landmarks undergo sweeping renovations. From billion-dollar stadiums to vintage hotel upgrades, the city is investing heavily in staying modern, competitive, and unforgettable for visitors.
Convention Center Revamp Nears Completion
The Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) is in the final stages of a $600 million renovation, with work on the North and South Halls nearly complete. The Central Hall is the next focus, and the entire project is on track to wrap up by late 2025. The upgrades aim to improve guest flow, modernize design, and keep Las Vegas at the top of the global convention market.
Casinos and Hotels Refresh Their Look
• Four Queens has just finished a $24 million renovation of its North Tower. Guests will notice quieter, sound-proofed rooms, larger bathrooms, and modern in-room amenities like 50-inch TVs and coffee makers.
• El Cortez Hotel & Casino, one of downtown’s historic gems, has invested $20–25 million into a major expansion. A new high-limit gaming lounge, Asian restaurant Hot Noods, and an upgraded entertainment venue bring fresh energy while keeping its vintage Vegas charm.
• Green Valley Ranch is in the middle of a $200 million renovation, updating all 422 rooms and 71 suites. The West Tower upgrades are already underway, with completion expected in 2026.

Mega Projects Redefining the Strip
Beyond individual hotels, entire landmarks are being reshaped:
• The Oakland A’s stadium is under construction on the former Tropicana site. The $1.75 billion project will deliver a 33,000-seat ballpark by 2028, alongside hotel and convention components.
• Hard Rock Las Vegas, replacing The Mirage, is rising with a dramatic guitar-shaped tower, redesigned casino, and enhanced pool and spa areas. Opening is planned for 2027.
• The Vanderpump Hotel, a reimagining of The Cromwell in partnership with TV star Lisa Vanderpump, will bring a boutique, entertainment-driven vibe to the Strip in 2026.
The Bigger Picture
Las Vegas renovations show a clear trend: properties are balancing nostalgia with modernization. Historic casinos like El Cortez are preserving their legacy while updating amenities, while mega-resorts like MGM Grand and Hard Rock focus on high-tech, design-driven guest experiences. At the same time, public projects like the LVCC overhaul and the A’s stadium are reshaping the city’s infrastructure and global appeal.
As 2025 progresses, visitors can expect to see more construction walls, cranes, and LED-lit facades all signs of a city constantly reinventing itself to stay ahead.
