Once the work is finished and the space looks beautiful, many people relax. Then, two months later, tiles hollow, doors shift, or paint bubbles — and suddenly the contractor is unreachable. This happens because no one discussed warranty at the beginning.
Before starting, ask clearly:
How long is the warranty on labor?
Which materials have manufacturer warranty?
Who handles repairs during the warranty period?
Put it in writing. A contractor confident in their work will not fear a reasonable warranty.
Keep a simple snag list in the first few weeks — every leak, crack, misaligned cabinet, sticking door. Call them back at once instead of “managing it.” Small problems ignored become big expenses.
Real renovation doesn’t end at handover. It ends when the work has survived real-life use.
