What would be your story?

If renovation is storytelling, what part of your home’s story would you want to preserve?

Thinking of renovations as telling a story is pretty cool. Each home has parts worth saving.

Folks might want to keep:

  • Original stuff like wood floors or cool beams that give the house its vibe.
  • Family stuff a kitchen spot where everyone’s met up for years, or a porch that’s seen tons of neighbors.
  • Building stuff like stained glass that makes the house special.
  • Personal stuff kid’s height marks on a wall, or a garden made by someone loved.

Other parts like the mechanics or old paint can be redone to make the house safer and better for what’s next.

If I had a home to renovate, the part I’d preserve would be the kitchen, not just as a space for cooking, but as the place where warmth, family, and stories gather. To me, it’s the “heartbeat” of a house.

That’s nice though, it’s your choice

I’d preserve the original details with character like old wood floors, vintage tiles, or a unique archway since they carry the home’s history and charm into every new chapter.
