Beautiful tiles are useless if the bathroom floods every time you shower. Poor drainage leads to standing water, bad smells, and slippery floors. The slope of the floor toward the drain matters more than most design choices.
During renovation, confirm that:
the shower floor slopes correctly
water does not flow toward the door
drains are big enough and not clogged
there is a separate drain for the shower if possible
Ask for a water test before tiles are fully finished. Correcting drainage later is difficult and expensive. Good drainage means less mopping, fewer smells, and a bathroom that actually works in daily life.
